  • Currently working on a new product developing both parts of the back-end (API) and front-end (UI). Main technologies used are C#, .Net framework, Javascript and React.
  • Contributed to the development of a load testing tool which was designed to test the data handling limits of the system. SQL scripting was used for creating the test data and Python for processing and loading the data.
  • Developed a recommender engine for Barrachd’s main platform. Used natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (Python) and data mining to develop a recommender system. The goal was to produce a proof of concept which can be implemented in future iterations of the platform. The developed system produced high accuracy in classifying social media posts as relevant or not relevant.
Jan’16 - Oct’18 National Galleries of Scotland Accountant
  • Management Information Reporting & Analytics. Lead the MI reporting at the National Galleries of Scotland. Developed automated and interactive reports which are pulling data directly from the accounting database. Key KPIs and Variances are presented using interactive tables and graphs. The reports are used by the Senior Management team for managing the organization.
  • Budgeting and forecasting. Lead the salary budgeting process and prepare from scratch the salary budget for the National Galleries of Scotland. Developed Salary & Expenses forecasting tools which were used to prepare monthly forecasts. Prepared and submitted to the Scottish Government and the Office of National Statistics monthly headcount and salary statistics

  • Developed automated, interactive reports using MS Excel and VBA now being widely used by finance teams within the business
  • Led the detailed analysis of internal and external data (e.g. CAPITA, Payroll, T&S) that identified £12m of cost-reduction opportunities
  • Led a detailed and critical review of Edinburgh Mail Centre’s weekly forecasts against budgets. Analyzed weekly and monthly variance of staff costs, non-staff costs and traffic, and flagged any significant changes
